Your participation in the Explorer 1 Course has shown you how the application of theoretical principles, properly explained techniques, and intelligent routining can turn even basic effects and sleights into baffling and memorable magic experiences.

Now it's time to continue your training with the Explorer 2 class, created and taught by Michael Close. The course features a unique, structured teaching method combined with personal guidance. Each week will build on the last, giving you a clear, progressive path to mastery.

What You’ll Learn

• Foundations in Sleight of Hand
  We will continue to focus on foundational card and coin sleights, including some that are rarely performed competently and convincingly (even by professionals).
  
  
• Tricks That Teach
  All the tricks we’ll discuss incorporate the sleights we will be working on. These are performable, real-world effects that do not use gaffs. Michael will also share his deceptive new handling (developed specifically for this course) of a popular stand-up effect that will fool and entertain laymen and magicians.
  
  
• Smart Routining
  As we did in Explorer 1, we will combine the tricks we learn into effective two- and three-trick sets.
  
  
• Theory in Practice
  Important ideas about the art of magic will be introduced as they naturally connect to the effects we are learning.
  
  
• The Reading Advantage
  Short, weekly reading assignments will help develop your critical thinking skills and will connect you with the rich history of the craft.
  
  
• Live, Small-Group Instruction
  Get personal attention, ask questions, and receive direct feedback in a fun and focused learning environment.
